With a Farewell Event we would like to say good-bye to all Heidelberg alumni who are departing at the conclusion of the Alumni Anniversary Days 2011 program. Let's relax and have a good time enjoying a brunch in the garden of the Heidelberg Center for American Studies before you leave.
All alumni who can stay longer in Heidelberg are cordially invited to participate in the remaining events of the Festival Week, as well as in the Programs for Alumni offered by the schools and colleges. The next exciting program awaits you on Tuesday afternoon:
Heidelberg alumnus Uwe Kräuter has lived in China longer than any other German. He left Heidelberg in 1974 with the threat of a prison sentence from his participation in a demonstration against the Vietnam War hanging over his head (Defense Counsel: Otto Schily, Eberhart Kempf). He has remained in China to this day, struggling both politically and personally, and witnessing radical changes over the past 36 years.
Kräuter will read from his latest book and share his interesting personal history: China aus der Sicht eines Grenzüberschreitenden.
